Detailed Day to Day Itinerary

We will drive you straight to your hotel in private vehicle as soon as you land at Tribhuvan International Airport at Kathmandu. We will give you short briefing on our final agreed program.And if you are the first time traveler in Nepal we will give information about restaurant, ATM, money exchange and other useful information until we meet for next day.


There are various major cultural historical and religious places around Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur for sightseeing. Pashupatinath, Bauddhanath, Swayambhunath, Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Kathmandu Durbar Square and Patan Durbar square are our top lists .Most of them are listed on UNESCO world heritage sites. Later in the evening we will arrange dinner with your trekking guide so you can know each other and talk about your trekking itineraries.


The only transportation to reach the Syabrubeshi is by road transportation. We strongly suggest you private vehicle over local vehicle because of the long tiring off-road driving. Couple of hours downhill from Kathmandu valley and we will drive by the bank of river till we reach Trishuli where we take lunch. The path from Trishuli is uphill narrow remote and bumpy till we reach Dhunche. We already can feel the change in vegetation and landscape as we reach Syabrubeshi. Syabrubeshi is a small town in deep gorge influenced by Tamang culture and is a hub for trekking tourists.


The day starts with demanding steep up for 3 hrs till we reach small village Goljung. The terraced crop fields and snow capped mountain seen around the way up is beautiful.You may often encounter old shy and smiling Tamang people busy on household while friendly young people having fun around.The trail is gentle up for 3 hour till we reach traditional Tamang village Gatlang. Tightly packed houses in Gatlang could be an example harmony people carry around this region even in this modern era.


We start our day passing by a lot of small chortens and manis around Gatlang village. The trail descends in between dense tropical forest and bamboo till we reach Chilime. After crossing suspension bridge we head uphill for about 2 hour to reach Gongang village. We can see a lot of people engaging themselves in agriculture and household activities. After Gongang the trail is gentle-up till we reach Tatopani. In Tatopani there used to be natural hotspring but after the major earthquake in April 2015 the source has disappeared.


Today we can see amazing landscape while trekking. The trekking starts with dense forest and gradually opens up with small and shallow alpine shrubs mainly juniper and rhododendron. As you gain altitude the completely disappear and can see flat meadow upon reaching Nagthali. Nagthali is open flat meadow land with countable houses that serves as an amazing view point to see Langtang Lirung and Ganesh Himal ranges. After taking lunch in Nagthali we continue to Thuman village.The trail is downhill in between the dense forest .


We descend steeply through lower temperate evergreen forest broken by some alpine trees till we reach a suspension bridge. Upon crossing the bridge we can see traditional old trade route of Nepal and Tibet where government are planning to modernize with trains in near future. We climb gentle up in between the forest for little more than 1 hour to reach another settlement of Tamang, Briddim village. After lunch in Briddim, the path is fairly straight in between dense damp forest habitat for birds and animals till we reach Khanjim village.


We descend steep for 1 and half hour and additional 2 hour with gentle up and down to reach Sherpagaon. Though not busy this trekking path has been adored by regular trekkers for the beautiful landscape. Walking in between rhododendron forest with beautiful sight of Gosaikunda valley and Langtang Himal ranges makes the trekking fun. We descend fairly to reach Rimche which joins the main trial of Langtang valley Trekking. Lama Hotel is cluster of tea houses located in deep gorge of Langtang valley.


The path extends more or less upper temperate kind of vegetation till we reach Ghodetabela. The vegetation is dominated mainly by rhododendron and pine forest.The place is ideal for the habitat for Himalayan Bear and Red Panda. The local people often claims spotting Himalayan bear nearby their settlement and house. The drop in temperature means you are gradually on alpine region and can see change in the vegetation and landscape. More three hour walk from Ghodetabela we are in Langtang village where we can see open majestic Langtang valley.


Today the path is very easy,gentle and short .We are heading much more to wide valley of Langtang. We can see numbers of small manis, chortens and prayer wheels as we pass-by. You can see many Snow capped peaks and massive glacier as you walk further. Langtang Li-rung with height of 7234m is the highest peak we see. After reaching Kyanjing Gompa we will make brief excursion around the famous cheese factory and the Buddhist monastery at the top of village.


Today we will set some physical and mental challenges by exploring around Tserko-ri(5030m). The climb is uphill in yak-pasture till we reach the top of the hill. The magnificent views of all the peaks of Langtang Himal ranges and Ganesh Himal ranges from top of the Tseko-ri around you on 360 degree angle will blow you away. After spending splendid moments we descend down to Kyanjing Gompa and have leisure time for rest of the afternoon.


We head back to down to Lama Hotel after taking breakfast in Kyanjing Gompa. The trail is downhill passing by Langtang Village and Ghodetabela. We can still have some glimpse of those mountains and peaks on your backside as you trek down Lama Hotel.


The trail is still descending furthermore by the bank of Langtang Khola. Trekking between the rhododendron and oak forest is mesmerizing on itself. Instead of continuing to Syabrubeshi, we turn left and make steep climb to reach another Tamang Village of Thulo Syabru. Again you trek on the dense forest of oak rhododendron and bamboo.


The morning starts with easy and gentle climb on open pasture field .We can see all the Langtang Himal ranges on our backside. The trail continues up with small forest alongside till we reach the top of Dimsa village. The village-top again offers magnificent view of all the glaciers and mountain ranges of Langtang region maybe for the last time. Our trek continues furthermore fairly straight in between huge Himalayan pine forest till we reach Singompa, the gateway to Gosaikunda .You can buy some yak cheese for your relatives and friends in Singompa since it is one of the best in Nepal.


The trail is steep down to Dhunche. We trek from Upper temperate region to lower temperate region so the vegetation changes accordingly. Dhunche is a small town but one of the economic and administration hub for all the local people of Langtang region.You can enjoy the last trekking dinner with your guide and porter as tribute for their hard work for making your trekking successful.


We drive back to Kathmandu from Dhunche. The road is bumpy narrow and zigzag but the landscapes and the people around you will make your drive easy and fun.

16. Is there risk of Acute Mountain sickness (AMS)?
There is minimal risk of Acute Mountain Sickness(AMS) in Langtang trekking region however you always need to be alert.
